Referee of the Month Contest

Fresh Eyes on Officiating assists referees and sports officials improve their effectiveness on the court and field through digital video collaboration between fellow officials. Unlike other professions and avocations, sports officials are evaluated every single time they step foot on the playing surface. Knowing the rules of the sport and arbitrating matches with sound mechanics are essential to becoming a proficient official. Digital video can be a great support for referees. Thus, Fresh Eyes on Teaching is hosting a Referee of the Month Contest to encourage fellow officials to share and interact with each other.

Officials receive secure private access to a video training suite that offers:

• an interactive, video platform to upload videos and collaborate with fellow officials

• a taggable storage library by topic, subject, date, name, etc. for every official

• a venue for authentic professional development activities with digital badging awards

• One FREE entry into the Referee of the Month Contest for each monthly registration

• Upload a video clip of yourself officiating

• Interact with other referees while giving/receiving feedback

• Overall interaction scores include posting, viewing, observing, and interacting

• Top monthly scores in the automated contest will split 50% of the accumulated registrations.
